Home Décor

home decor

Recently I've been loving interior design and now that spring is here there's no better time to have a good spring clean and brighten up your home. I decided to show you a few of my favourite items on my wish list that you could incorporate into your home. I like to keep things simple and clean so that you can always add a splash of colour here and there when you feel like it or add plants to create a 'fresh' feel. As you may know, I'm a self confessed candle addict so of course there's going to be a candle on my wish list! I actually don't own a candle from Diptyque surprisingly so I'm most definitely looking into buying one! I've been loving adding lemons and limes to my water recently so this jug would be perfect to fill with water, ice and sliced citrus fruits on a summers day! What's on your home wish list this spring?

Travelling essentials

Recently I've found myself travelling a lot, from weekends away to holidays abroad. I have a lot of travelling coming up, and endless amounts of packing to do so I thought I'd let you know what I class as my 'essentials' whilst travelling. My absolute essentials would of course be things such as body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand sanitizer, tissues, hair ties and a hair brush as you can guarantee that you will need all of these whilst travelling. Depending on who you are and your personal needs you may need extra things. Moisturiser is essential for me as I tend to sanitize and wash my hands a lot so they become really dry. For me personally, I need nail clippers and a nail file as I have long nails and you can always count on one snapping at the most inappropriate time when I don't have anything to file it with and that rugged edge will drive me insane all day! Eye makeup remover and eye cream are essential as you always need to remove your eye makeup and keep your eyes looking wonderful. I personally use the YSL eye cream and eye makeup remover. Perfume is completely essential for me as I always love to smell good and depending on your perfume, it can change you whole mood. For me, I always carry multiple lipsticks as I am a religious lipstick wearer and feel so bare without anything on my lips. I recently got the Chanel Rogue Allure in shade 94 Extatique and I'm in looooove! Also the philosophy lipgloss is super lovely if you don't want to wear any lipstick but still want a gloss with a lovely shimmer. Whilst travelling I've found that sunglasses really are a lifesaver. A few times I've left mine somewhere or forgot them and I've spent the entire day squinting or even had to buy some new ones. I also love sunglasses as if you want your hair out of your face you can place them on your head to keep your hair out of your face. Reminder to self, ALWAYS remember sunglasses!

 Happy travelling!

OOTD

Today I woke up in such a good mood and feeling super summery.  I decided to wear a orange lace flowery top and a white asymmetric skirt with white sandals. I decided not to take a photo of my feet as I highly doubt the internet would appreciate an image of my toes! I spent my morning by taking my dog on a lovely long walk in the sun and then washing my car. Later on I went to the beach with my family. I wish I could say that I done something amazing with my hair but I curled my hair yesterday and woke up and just brushed it this morning. Second day curly hair is my absolute favourite, it looks great with minimal effort. I kept my makeup quite natural as I had individual eyelashes put on for my birthday so I didn't want to over do it. I rarely have pale lip colours on but I'm loving nudes recently as I'm wearing brighter clothes as summer comes!

I received this lovely necklace as a gift for my birthday and I'm completely obsessed with it as I can never find my name on any jewellery! I also received this ring as a gift for my birthday. How cute is it!!!

Top - 'Flower Lace Tee' from Topshop. £38.
Skirt - Primark. £10.
Sandals - 'White cross mule sandals' from River Island. £28.

How have you spent your day?

Smashbox 'Brow Tech Trio'

I've always been massively envious of people who have amazing eyebrows (or at least fill them in amazingly). As you may know, I'm blonde and I most definitely can't say that for my eyebrows. They're a lot darker than my hair and I attempted to fill them in once and it ended disasterously. My mum uses the Smashbox Brow Tech Trio and around a month ago was adamant that I should let her do my eyebrows with this little product. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Why did I not do this sooner? I've completely fell in love with this product and I've used it every day since (which my mum isn't happy about as it was a brand new tub!). It is most definitely being put at the top of my birthday wish list. The trio consists of a wax and two different coloured powders. I have this in the shade Taupe/Soft Brown. You use the lighter shade to fill your brows and then the darker shade to define them.  I use my Smashbox Angle Brow Brush #12 to apply this product. You just simply dab the tip of the #12 brush into the powder you want and then into the wax and apply! As you can see, the wax isn't going to stay clear! This product is the only one I've ever found that fills and defines my eyebrows without making them go overly dark and look horrific. It's super natural looking and so easy to apply. 10/10 from me!

April Favourites

April has came to an end so I thought I'd show you all what I've been loving throughout last month. A couple of these items were included within my 'Current Favourites' post at the beginning of April but I just had to include them in this one as all of these products have been used A LOT in the past month. Enjoy!

1. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. I bought this a while ago as I am completely in love with the messy 'beachy' look, especially with blonde hair. I am a huuuuge lover of Bumble and Bumble's products so I just couldn't resist trying this. The result of this gives a lovely 'just stepped off the beach' look. You can use this product on damp or dry hair. I have tried both and would suggest using a little amount of this whilst your hair is damp and a spray or two once dried to help with styling.

2. Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray. I received this mini thickening hairspray in an issue of Elle a few months back and it was one of those products that just got lost within my collection of hair products. I rediscovered this at the beginning of April and as you can see from the photo, half of the bottle has gone already! I find that spraying this in my roots whilst damp gives my hair more volume and texture, as I have thin hair this is an absolute lifesaver!

3. Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. I recently repurchased this (for the fourth time) and I still get overly excited whilst using a new one. This is by far my favourite makeup item, skin wise. I genuinely don't ever think I will stop loving this product. It gives my skin such a lovely glow and is great for both summer and winter.

4. St Tropez Bronzing Lotion. I received this as a gift a while back from a family member and I have repurchased this multiple times. I usually exfoliate whilst in the bath and once out I moisturize my key areas such as my elbows, knees, neck and wherever you feel may crease. I then apply this product and I'm good to go! This product does give a 'biscuit' smell (if you're a false tanner then you know what I'm talking about!) but it doesn't seem to bother me too much, I quite like it! It looks lovely on and I've received quite a few compliments about how natural it looks! A winner in my eyes!

5. Parks Aromatherapy Candle. I have no shame when it comes to admitting my obsession with candles. I am well and truly a candle hoarder. I just think that they're so therapeutic and relaxing. I purchased this in the 'Cinnamon and Clove' scent. I am in love with it! It is possibly one of the best candles I've EVER purchased (oh yes, I went there). When lit it burns in an even layer which I find great as you never get that uneven surface once the candle hardens again. The smell is exactly the same once burnt, I find a lot of candles smell lovely but when you burn them the smell is completely different. I would completely recommend these candles to anyone!

 6. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick. This lipstick is probably the best quality one that I've ever tried! It is so pigmented therefore only requires one application. I believe that you only get what you pay for. Depending on where you purchase this lipstick, it is around £25 so is therefore up there in the higher price range but the quality makes it so worth it! I'm even looking at buying another one!

7. Mac Lipstick in Morange. I've been a lover of Morange foreverrrr! I first purchased this lipstick a few years back and I've been obsessed ever since. You will sure know which one it is when you visit the Mac counter. It is by far the brightest out of their lipsticks but I'm not really a subtle kinda girl. I love to pair this lipstick with bright orange nails. The only downside to this lipstick is that it dries my lips up after a while so I recommend a good lip balm beforehand!

8. Mother Natures Goodies Lavender Oil. Growing up I used to always have lavender oil in my bath and I absolutely loved it. Unintentionally, I just stopped using it and a few weeks back I rediscovered it. I am obsessed with it! I put a few drops in my bath and it helps to completely relax me. I also put a few drops on my pillows as this helps me to sleep and 'zone out' before bed.

So there you go, my April favourites. I hope you enjoyed this post! What have you been loving throughout April?
